Another teenager in our home!

Happy 13th Isaac!

Isaac enjoyed his birthday with a new cel phone. We didn't give it to him for his birthday, but he had been working hard for the privilege of buying a cel phone with his own money. We told him a few months ago, that if he learned 5 hymns on the piano and proved that he could pay the $20/month cel phone fee and also save at least that much every month, then we would start to think about letting him make the purchase. He did learn the hymns and proved his money making ability - so the day before his birthday we told him he could go ahead. It made his birthday fun...I made the mistake of giving out his cel # to all of his aunts and uncles on the evening of his birthday. He came to me a while later and said, "Mom, I can't get my homework done with all of these people texting me!" He actually felt very loved and REALLY enjoyed all of the texted birthday wishes, and we've talked about the fact that he doesn't have to read and respond to every text right when it comes.

We celebrated with Isaac by having homemade cheesecake (thanks to Bjorn) and he and his friend Nate went to "Jump on it" to play! Isaac is a great kid and he'll be a fun teenager to have around!
